For more than 30 years, Rick Tomaska has performed at the forefront of numismatics. He entered the field, which involves the analysis, grading, and selling of fine coins, in 1981 when he founded R & I Coins. Since that time, his company has worked with clients to assemble quality sets and collections of coins. Rick Tomaska has helped collectors gather some of the finest sets known to the industry, including the top ranking Proof Franklin and Mint State Franklin sets. Dedicated to client satisfaction, Mr. Tomaska aims to facilitate not only high-quality collections but also an enjoyable collecting experience.

Over the years, Rick Tomaska has developed a reputation as an expert in Franklin and Kennedy half dollars. He has authored The Complete Guide to Franklin Half-Dollars and A Guide Book of Franklin and Kennedy Half Dollars, both of which met with critical and public acclaim and earned follow-up publications. Mr. Tomaska is also known for his expertise in cameo proof coinage. Following the publication of his first book, Cameo and Brilliant Proof Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era, he initiated the development of Cameo and Deep Cameo designations for U.S. Proof coins, approved by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in 1992. This landmark action led to a new Ultra Cameo designation by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) shortly thereafter.

Rick Tomaska shares his knowledge of these and other collectable coins through his work with R & I Coins, and as the host of a twice-monthly coin show presented by Art & Coin TV. The show highlights Mr. Tomaska’s areas of expertise, with high-grade, visually appealing examples of discussed coins presented for viewing and sale. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ilona, and their four children.
